JESUS FOR BUSY PEOPLE
Jesus for Busy People is a daily podcast on the freedom, authenticity, spirituality, and identity of Jesus. No agenda, no politics, just Jesus, every day.

What is Jesus for Busy People?
Jesus is not an idea, a philosophy, or a tradition, but a person, the person, the presence, and the power of God. Following Jesus is not about ritual, or rules, or regulations, but allowing our mind to be renewed, and four paths for renewal that resonate in today's world are: authenticity, spirituality, identity, and freedom. Jesus for Busy People is a daily podcast to equip, empower, and encourage you in your journey of faith, life and spirituality.
Are you busy?

Are you busy? I am. We live in busy, uncertain, and challenging times, with rapid social, economic and political change at home, and war and conflict abroad. It is often difficult to find time to reflect, meditate, and pray, as there are so many pressures upon our time. But it isn't just that. These days, the simple, basic message of Jesus is suppressed, rewritten and twisted by so many agendas. Jesus has been recruited into our political projects and become part of our culture wars. It is time to reject all this and search again for the real Jesus, not the Jesus we have created in our image.
Who is the real Jesus? Well, there are many ways forward, but for me, the identity of Jesus is to be found in the New Testament, especially the four gospels, and the letters from Paul, John, James, Peter, among others. It has amazed me how so many people claim to be Christians and yet know so little about Jesus.
For the last few years, I have been setting up a new Christian educational service provider, Freedom Matters Today. I decided to go with a corporation because I believe we all should pay tax to the government (Romans 13). Back in 2019, I left my job as a parish priest in the Anglican Church to learn how to create websites and write blogs, how to craft and edit podcast episodes, and record them, how to research, edit, write and publish books. I created the imprint 'Hidden Road Publishing,' and from 2022 to 2024 published 14 books, 10 on the Christian life, and they are all available through Amazon.
Over that time, I realized that podcasting was becoming a decisive way to communicate ideas, but I also noticed that Christianity, the faith about Jesus, was being lost in this new technological space which has just become another platform for the culture wars.
I felt God was calling me to enter the podcasting space again with a new project, to focus not on politics, or agendas, but on the person of Jesus. Like Jesus, I want to overthrow the status quo, the assumptions, and the conventional wisdom. I was told that your podcast must be long, rambling and conversational. Why? These are just more rules that don't come from God.
We don't live in the long conversation, the rambling chat, but in the supermarket, the train schedule, traffic jams, family life, duties, and constant surprises. We have 'elevator chats' with friends or short conversations with neighbors. We are all busy.
Imagine having a short chat with someone about one aspect of the life of Jesus, with one main point, something to ponder as you go about your day, something true, something grounded in the Bible, something authentic about the life and significance of Jesus. That is the gist of Jesus for Busy People, a short reflection on Jesus, for busy people, in our busy world today. I hope you are able to join us.
Who was Jesus?

Authenticity
Everyone who met Jesus, knew he was different, knew that he was saying something they needed to hear, and knew he spoke and lived with authenticity.

Spirituality
Jesus took his relationship with God seriously. It defined his life, his prayers, his decisions, and his attitudes. Jesus was a spiritual person.

Freedom
Jesus brings freedom because he was truly free. Jesus brings us freedom from guilt and shame, sin and death, past and prejudice and fear and despair. True freedom comes from Jesus.

Identity
Jesus knew who he was. He had a strong sense of his own identity. He was God's Son, he was the presence, the power, and the person of God, and the one who came to set us free.

Frequently Asked Questions
You can start anytime, and you don’t miss a thing
Not only is Jesus for Busy People a short daily podcast for our busy lives, but each episode is an individual message.
We stay focused
Jesus for Busy People stays on target. Our episodes are not jumbled, or scattered, but focused. Our focus is Jesus, the person, the presence, and the power of God. The most important thing in the world is knowing God and being known by him.
Your mind matters
Following Jesus is not just about actions, but our way of thinking about the authenticity, identity, spirituality, and freedom of Jesus. Each episode has been carefully written to deepen your understanding of the person of Jesus based on the Bible.
The life, words, and actions of Jesus matter
Jesus for Busy People is a deep dive into the life of Jesus, five minutes a day, every day. His life, his words, and his actions matter, and so we have brought some of the key themes together, like steps on a path, so we don’t miss anything of importance.
There is no politics or agendas in Jesus for Busy People
I am not interested in popularity or politics, nor do I have any agenda. I want you to know who Jesus is, how he saw himself, how others saw him, his relationship with his Father in heaven, his spirituality, and the freedom he enjoyed.
I have written books on politics and social issues in the past, but I believe I did so from a Christian perspective, based on the Bible. Jesus for Busy People, however, presents a view of Jesus for everyone, based on the Bible, without politics, without agenda, just the basics, drawn from the pages of the New Testament.
The Rev. Dr. Michael J. Sutton has been a political economist, pastor, priest, and professor, and now is a published author of 14 books since November 2022, 10 looking at freedom from a Christian perspective, 3 novels and one academic book on the low birthrate problem in the West, called ‘Baby Race.’ He has written on fascism, Covid-19, Ukraine, Christian Nationalism, WW3 and two books on the Gaza genocide. Like many he fought for freedom during the pandemic, setting up Freedom Matters Today in September 2021.
Jesus came for everyone
Jesus For Busy People is for everyone, for Roman Catholics, Protestants, and Orthodox Christians and anyone who has no background in Christianity. I focus on the essentials of Jesus.

Testimonials
Review of Freedom from Fascism, A Christian Response to Mass Formation Psychosis, 2022 by R. Rose, 24 September 2023.
Michael Sutton is a brave and outspoken man who is much needed in these times when many have forgotten about the COVID tyranny and biosecurity overreach. As he indicates, in this provocative book, "It is impossible to be a Christian and let the government decide who has the right to hear the good news about God." This book should be read by all within the broader church and anyone who wants to understand "the signs of the times". The book causes the reader to reflect deeply on our current "conventional wisdom" which is not wisdom at all but rather, Dr Sutton argues, "mass formation psychosis". We need more people today like Dr Sutton - men who are prepared to speak clearly and without fear, at a time when we are increasingly being manipulated by conventional media sources. Dr Sutton points out that faith and religion are completely different and ultimately - freedom - which he espouses clearly - can only be found in Jesus.

JESUS FOR BUSY PEOPLE
No Agenda, No Politics, Just Jesus
Jesus for Busy People is a new way of listening to the good news of Jesus, his life, death, and resurrection using the format of micro-podcasting, a daily ten-minute podcast on the presence, the power, and the person of God found in Jesus. Each episode has been written and narrated by Michael J. Sutton, the CEO of Freedom Matters Today, based in Sydney. Typical podcasts run for an hour or so, even longer, and while many love the rambling, conversational style, others are simply too busy to spend hours listening to podcasts. Jesus for Busy People is for, not surprisingly, busy people. Life is busy. Life is stressful. Life is a race from dawn to dusk and beyond. Jesus for Busy People encourages us to equip ourselves with new insights about Jesus each day so we might empower ourselves and others to follow him.
